The Lakota prophecy of the ‘Black Snake’ – that there will be a great black snake that will run through the land and bring destruction to the people and to Earth – is happening now. The prophecy states that it must not be allowed to cross the river; otherwise it will be destructive. My heart is with those at Standing Rock.
The power of ceremony
In 2009, I was blessed to be at an 11-day sacred ceremony in Sedona, Arizona, called ‘The Return of the Ancestors’. The ceremony brought together tribal elders and leaders from around the world for counsel and ceremony regarding the direction of the planet according to Mayan and Hopi tribal prophecies.
Ceremony and prayer are a part of tribal life. Before ‘the white man’ came along, this connection to Great Spirit as well as Mother Earth sustained them well, was strong, and was heart-centred. Drumming, dancing, and chanting can all alter conscious awareness, sometimes taking us into a trance state.
Imagine the power of ceremony, with all of us focusing on the same outcome and healing the planet! Imagine the ripple effect that would occur. My personal theory is that the white man forbade many tribes from performing ceremony because they feared its power. I see this power coming back to the people – a new earth! We are witnessing now many online global meditation and prayer groups forming. This is a beautiful and powerful way to connect with our indigenous families who continue to be at front lines around the world protecting the land.
Tribal elders have been gathering for many years in preparation for the times we are living in. I know that I was guided to participate in 2009 because my soul heeded the calling. It is time for all people everywhere to lift into their hearts.
Collectively realigning our values
For our planet to survive, we must, as a mass consciousness, realign our values with life. Our wounds run deep individually and collectively. As the ego begins to surrender with trust in the wisdom of the heart knowing, our planet will thrive again. With their wisdom, our indigenous elders of the planet will show us how, for their hearts are connected with Mother Earth’s.
The current situation at Standing Rock, North Dakota, regarding the Dakota Access Oil Pipeline is occurring on Oglala Lakota Sioux land. Chief Looking Horse has put the call out for religious and spiritual leaders to step forth and help support the water protectors. I see our indigenous elders as the moral compass of our planet.
The Lakota prophecy of the ‘Black Snake’ – that there will be a great black snake that will run through the land and bring destruction to the people and to Earth – is happening now. The prophecy states that it must not be allowed to cross the river; otherwise it will be destructive. Tribes and fellow supporters around the world are now standing up to help support our indigenous brothers and sisters for our Mother Earth. My heart is with those at Standing Rock.
Heeding the call
I have learnt that following our own heart is the key to knowing our soul purpose – and when we heed the call, nothing but goodness can come from that. Like a magnet, we attract more and more circumstances to help us fulfil our purpose for being here at this time. It is as if we are magically supported by the universe! It takes courage to follow the heart, however, and to trust the yearning of knowing within, and take a leap of faith. Yet, once embarked upon, it’s as if the soul begins to reverberate with ecstasy, and any doubt that once may have been seems to just disappear. I’m so grateful for the day I let go, and trusted my heart.
