Beyond the familiar

Lee Carroll admits that channelling is still very misunderstood and acknowledges that despite the number of acclaimed channels who now exist, the commonly held view continues to be that the process is ‘spooky and weird’ and occasionally even ‘evil’.

Carroll has been channelling an energy he calls Kryon for almost 20 years and misguided notions about his gift no longer trouble him. Only knowledge, he says, will change the erroneous perceptions.

He offers what he describes as the accurate definition of channelling: “The divine, inspired words (or energy) of God as imparted to humans by humans.”

“Not only were most of the sacred scriptures of the planet (all religions) channelled originally, but also much artwork and music too! It is absolutely commonplace, but like so many other re-emerging processes in the ‘new age’, it has a stigma about it that is strange,” he says.

Noting that Spirit is not proprietary and that anyone can channel he says, “it’s for all humans, not just a few, therefore the ability and potential exists for this attribute in us all”.

He cautions however that not all channelling is done with pure intent and urges those who are drawn to it to question if it really is sacred energy from Spirit.

Discernment, he says, is the key.

“Is there any ego or human agenda? If you detect it then stop. There cannot be human ego present for the information to be accurate and true. Spirit demands this of the channeller”, he says adding that any message channelled from Spirit will always be filled with love, not fear.

Another key, says Carroll, is the ‘recognition’ of familiar energy.

Describing it as a feeling of ‘home’ he says, if you don’t experience that and you can’t identify with the entity or entities that are channelling through the human vehicle, then perhaps you should not pass on the message.

“Not all channelling is from an entity. Much of it comes from your own spiritual centre. Don’t always try to determine ‘who’ it is; asking for a name is trying to put skin and bones to it. Consider that your core is the love of God… and is also able to give you messages for you.”

Carroll’s story began with a business and economics degree from California Western University and was followed by a technical audio business in San Diego that flourished for 30 years.

He had no interest whatsoever in metaphysics but in 1986 and 1989 he visited two psychics, essentially to indulge his wife, and was given exactly the same message by both. They told him that a ‘magnetic master’ named Kryon was trying to get in touch with him.

Carroll didn’t believe any of it, but it puzzled him that two guys who knew nothing about him, or each other, gave him identical information.

It fostered in him a curiosity and a willingness to open to the possibility that there was more to this synchronicity than he was able to logically fathom.

“I was a church-going guy so I said to God: “If this is real show it to me”. That’s when I started getting information and emotions that you can’t fake.

“You can’t fake an incredible feeling of self worth, peace and what I would call a ‘love wash’,” he says.

Carroll told LivingNow that every time he sat down and opened the door or ‘gave intent’ to receive messages, these feelings washed over him.

He laughs. “When the engineer gets weepy because he’s found something so incredible, that’s when you know that something big is happening.”

The messages that came through back then (“we are all pieces of God and the true picture goes beyond any organised religion”) still form the core of Kryon’s teachings. But it was the tremendous energy that enveloped the words and gave Carroll the impression that he had stepped into ‘a bubble of love’ that prompted the start of the journey.

He explains the process of connecting with Kryon as “going into trance but not leaving my body”. Carroll maintains that since the harmonic convergence of 1987 there has been a different kind of channel. He claims that the new model is more responsible than the old, full-bodied channel.

“The higher self of the individual channel melds with the messenger”, he says. “The new energy and new tools allow this. I’m in a trance and I hear, verify and validate what’s happening and have control to stop it if I choose.”

Carroll believes that he is a participator – not just a witness. He says; “the translation comes from an inter-dimensional source that does not speak a linear language. So it uses my intellect, my culture, my language and my body to deliver a message that comes in through some other thought group.”

Asked what the difference is between sitting in the audience of a channelled entity/energy as opposed to one of the many personal development leaders who teach similar wisdom, Carroll insists that experiencing a channelling can take audiences to a very different place from simply a teaching.

“It’s not just about the power of positive thinking or how to think and grow rich”, he says. “Do you remember what I told you about the love wash? That is the beginning of a conceptual inter-dimensional awakening.

“We are such a linear group of beings. But we have the ability to transcend this linearity. When we do it’s almost euphoric because it feels so releasing. With this release there is an accompanying feeling of tremendous love – or what we have learned is love – and a sense of freedom.”

This experience, he says, is common in Kryon’s audiences. However, it is also common for one person to feel absolutely nothing while someone next to them is being transported.

“It has to do with free choice. Nothing is being sent to the audience that is going to cause a human being to change. What is being sent is permission to change and if people will open to this with either their heart or their intellect they will feel it.

“It’s like a gift that sits before you and you can accept or decline it.”

Carroll rejects the suggestion that he is creating followers and that Kryon would be perceived by some as a guru; both of which would seem contrary to the message of ‘self-empowerment’ that he delivers.

Laughing, Carroll says: “It would be tough to follow us. We don’t hold classes and we have neither a membership nor an ashram. We don’t collect email addresses on our website and there’s no way to send us money.”

Carroll and his accompanying musician, Robert Coxon, travel the world doing one-off workshops.

Kryon has addressed the United Nations six times in 12 years. In March 2007 he was supported by DNA researcher, Dr. Todd Ovokaitys. Dr. Ovokaitys is working with South African AIDS groups on plans to bring an end to that disease on the continent of Africa.

KRYON SPEAKS OF “THE NEW FRONTEIR” – extracted from the discourse he gave at the United Nations last year.

“I would like to tell you about the new frontier. There would be those who would say it is, and must be, China. No. That is not the new frontier. Oh, there’s going to be amazing things that take place in China, representing the new industrial revolution for the planet. But that’s expected, and is not new news. You knew that already.

“Spirit does not give generic advice. Spirit gives the revelation of potential futures, and advice within what you are already creating. So let me give you some advice about China, based on what is in the future. The dragon is slow to move and has been here for thousands of years, whereas the country where my partner sits right now is barely 200 years old. China knows what it is doing. It is studying capitalism in its way, and it is not finished. For the Asians do very well in taking things apart and putting them back together, studying how they work and then making them better than the item they originally studied, and China is doing that now with Hong Kong [a model of high finance and international capitalistic know-how, developed under British rule]. Do you think it’s an accident that they inherited Hong Kong after a 99-year lease, and this took place in your lifetime? You think that’s an accident? They are studying, and they are learning, and indeed, they will make many of the same mistakes that your country did along the way to functional Chinese capitalism.

“But you would be well advised if this country [the USA] and the West in general would support them in the areas where they’re weak, and give them the knowledge and the wisdom to run the things that they need to run, without at the same time imposing a Western culture onto them. Let them have their Asian-ness, and they will develop an economy that is even stronger than yours and that may surprise you in the process, for it will bring abundance also to the west through investment and expansion, but this is not new news.

“Well then, Kryon, if it’s not China, it’s got to be the Middle East.” And I say to you, it is not that either. The Middle East is a core issue, not a new frontier. You see now a cauldron, a puzzle that needs to be solved and stabilised so that you can move past the 2012 mark into promise and peace. This doesn’t have to happen by 2012, but if it started now, it would be a good thing. It’s about stabilisation, not a new frontier. It’s the cradle of civilisation.

“I will give you information that only those past your lifespan will be able to verify, but, of course, many of you will be back by then [speaking of those who will reincarnate]. I know who you are, all of you as you sit here, and why you’re here. I know of the puzzles in your personal life.

“I want to talk about the AU. What is that? It’s something in the future. I want to talk about the AU, which probably will not be seen for 50 years. . .  two generations: The African Union. You met the doctor today, The Twist Master, I call him [Dr. Todd Ovokaitys]. He is one who will help cure the continent of Africa in this generation. For when the citizens of that great continent have health, they will then have the need for normal economies. And what you do not know and the underlying support is that there are literally trillions of what you would call dollars that are sitting and waiting to be invested in their health! There are those on Earth who also see this clearly.

“These are the grand cities of the future, in the African Union. It will be a conglomeration of African states much like you see in the European Union, only bigger and more powerful, with their own securities exchanges that will rival anything the earth has ever seen, even the Chinese, because the future resources that the world will need are in Africa, including some you have not realised yet. It is the next great frontier, and in this new energy, that continent must be cured. This is in progress, and indeed, it will be.”
