Sex or tantra?

For women to access the full force of her sexual energy and learn to open the heart chakra of her man is a blessing for both, because then intimacy is created… a sacred togetherness.

We fall in love… ahhh… sexual excitement is high, heat flows quickly, pulsing passion, proven to make us eat less, sleep less and feel better. Arousal is fast and easy and each partner is continually charged to make love… We shine! Sound good? Let’s fast forward a few years and a couple of kids later and, for many, that energy that was there in the beginning is dissipating, sometimes to the point of disappearing altogether, and thus, the relationship that was going to last forever either dies a little every year, or has gone completely! What can you do to change it? Think tantra.

Where did you go to learn about lovemaking? If you want to be great at anything you need to learn how. Anyone can open a packet of cake mix, throw in an egg and milk and toss it in the oven, but to create a masterpiece requires time, effort and learning how.

So what is tantra? It is a dance of love… sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes gentle, sometimes strong. There are many keys to mastery. One is the breath for, as you breathe together, you harmonise yourselves, feeling closer, melting into one other. When the energy or passion diminishes, you breathe alternately and energy rises again. Tantra teaches men that they can be their beloved’s healer and it teaches women that their sexual energy (Shakti power) is a gift and should be honoured as such. For a man to recognise that, within his hands and his lingam (penis), he has the power to heal the deep hurts of the past in his beloved is very humbling and empowering. For women to access the full force of her sexual energy and learn to open the heart chakra of her man is a blessing for both, because then intimacy is created… a sacred togetherness.

Tan means body and tra means vibration. Think of your chakra system as being a garden which has never been tended and is full of weeds. As you breathe, connect at the heart and clear the weeds out, the energy pathway opens and these vibrations flow through the body connecting two beings and bringing them together as one, taking you higher and higher into ecstasy and bliss.

In the West, foreplay is the valley and orgasm is the mountain; in tantra it’s the other way around. Orgasm is the valley and the mountain is what else is possible.

In essence tantra is the missing piece of the spiritual jigsaw puzzle and the piece most people search for. It is a gift for this turbulent time we live in, as it heals, brings connection on a very profound level and magic to relationships, just like in the beginning, except much much better!
